1777, the year with three gallows in it, and perhaps the most crucial year of the American Fight for Independence. The British sought to control the Hudson River valley and crush the colonial insurrection. The campaign was a failure, and in the end British General John Burgoyne was forced to surrender to the Americans. Having proven capable of striking a mighty blow versus an Empire that the sun did not set on, win at Saratoga convinced the French to help the rebels and enter the fight. It was the beginning of the end for British rule over the thirteen colonies. How will you fare? War for Crown or Colony in Pixel Soldiers: Saratoga, the next good wargame from Jolly Pixel in the acclaimed Pixel Soldiers series (Bull Run, Gettysburg, Waterloo, and The Good Fight)! Saratoga is a turn based strategy/war mini game that features addictive video test that’s casual enough to pick up and play while still featuring plenty of depth. With a robust AI, seven scenarios, and a sandbox mode for a never ending fight, Saratoga feels like a full featured PC mini game shrunk down to fit in your pocket. Saratoga features seven scenarios, mostly based on historical wars. Some wars have been tweaked for playability, with wars ranging from little to large. Included are: • Crown Point (hypothetical). • Ticonderoga (really big scale, tweaked from reality for more pixel on pixel violence). • Hubbardton (small/medium skirmish, historical). • Fort Stanwix/Oriskany (combines Oriskany ambush and the Stanwix siege into one engaging scenario). • Bennington (smaller historical battle). • Freeman’s Farm aka First War of Saratoga (really big, historical). • Bemis Heights aka Second War of Saratoga (historical, and quite really big in scope!). Saratoga boasts these good features sure to please your inner grognard: • Turn based, with a friendly save ability making it simple to wage fight on the go. Can save various ongoing campaigns. • Tutorial. • Single user versus an impressive AI or hot seating versus an opponent. • A multitude of troops at your command, all dressed in their finest pixels. British Line Infantry, Grenadiers, Guard Infantry, Light Infantry, German mercs, Jaeger Riflemen, Loyalists, Indians, medium and light artillery. American Musket and Rifle Militia, Continental Regular, Veteran Infantry, Light Infantry, Riflemen, light and medium artilley. Even bateaux (little warships) create an appearance in the order of battle! • Units are not cookie-cutter in nature and each performs a various role on the battlefield, giving the user plenty to contemplate. • A sandbox mode for endless replayability after the campaigns are complete. Contains previous sandbox maps and a fresh one entitled King’s Mountain. Additionally, a fresh mode—Fight to the Death—has been added. • Classic wargaming elements: morale, line of sight, the importance of terrain, and win through tactic, not luck. • New to the series, leadership points! Representing command and control you’ll never have enough points to do everything you wish (or need) to perform. • Leadership points can be spent on personally leading a unit into war (for a combat boost), ordering a double-time march, and recovering and rallying army that have become disordered or routed. • Some more fresh additions to the Pixel Soldiers series being seen for the first time contain the inclusion of a fresh Routing Phase at the end of the turn, more in-game feedback, and melee combat even more deadly than before. • Enhanced audio and visuals while keeping the classic Pixel Soldiers look. Caleb Williams: Other perfect entry in the series. I would live to see one of these mini games set in ww2 someday, perhaps in the pacific theater. The Vietnam Fight, or even more modern fights would be unbelievable as well. The video test mechanics are incredibly solid, there's nowhere Pixel Soldiers can't go.

Jeff Robbins: Mini game is good, as are ALL this developers. Just want I should see the individual unit statistics BEFORE I pick them instead of after on the battlefield. Would love to see it in the unit selection screen. But that's really my only complaint another than maybe not being able to move troops across water once they've landed. But that's never actually cost me a mini game, it's just something I've thought about. Can't rave more about my LOVE for the inclusion of 3 factions!!!!! I appreciate all the hard work.

This is a really cool mini game I'm having a blast crushing the rebels! I've managed to receive all the mini games now unbelievable series! Would love to see a melee combat based mini game in future maybe (hundred years fight) or (crusades) something of that ilk! I wonder how archers and siege engines would function??? :)
