About the application:

The goal of the PocketPerio application is to improve and simplify diagnosis of periodontal diseases created by a wide dozens of dental specialists, including but not limited to periodontists, general dentists, dental students, and residents. It can also be used as a teaching and calibration program in academic and non-academic clinical environments. The application uses diagnostic terms and criteria proposed by the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) in the 2017 Globe Workshop on the Classification of Periodontal and Peri-Implant Diseases and Conditions. It contains the diagnosis of (i) periodontal health, gingival diseases and conditions; (ii) conditions associated with non-periodontal loss of clinical attachment (e.g., gingival recession); (iii) periodontitis-associated loss of clinical attachment; and (iv) peri-implant diseases and conditions. Privacy policy: Although the diagnostic criteria that the PocketPerio application uses are based on the published AAP rules, it may not apply to absolutely all cases. The diagnoses derived by using this product could not be construed as tip to care for specific patients. Clinical judgment must be used in diagnosing and treating periodontal conditions of specific patients.
