POSEIDON System apk provides simple access to the updated view of the meteorological, wave, hydrodynamic and ecosystem forecasts provided in POSEIDON System official site poseidon.hcmr.gr. The forecasts are updated everyday covering the next five days. Meteo Forecast: Spatial coverage: mid and South Europe, Mediterranean Sea and North Africa • Surface wind (10m) • Rainfall • Air Temperature (2m) • Cloudiness • Snowfall • Dust • Atmospheric Pressure Waves Forecast: Spatial coverage: Mediterranean Sea, Sea of Marmara and Black Sea • Significant Wave Height & Direction (WW3 model) • Significant Wave Height & Direction (WAM model) Sea Level Forecast: Spatial coverage: Mediterranean Sea • Total Elevation • Tidal Elevation • Surge Elevation Hydrodynamics Forecast: Spatial coverage: Mediterranean Sea • Sea Surface Temperature • Sea Surface Salinity • Surface (5m) Circulation Ecosystem Forecast: Spatial coverage: Mediterranean Sea • Chlorophyll-a (0-10m average) • Nitrates (Surface) • Ammonium (Surface) • Phosphates (Surface) • Bacteria Biomass (Surface) • Mesozooplankton (Surface) • Phytoplankton Biomass (Surface) • Basic Production (Surface) • Bacterial Production (Surface) • Basic Production (200m Integrated) • Bacterial Production (200m Integrated) Color bar: click on the color bar to change troops for surface wind (kt, m/s, bft), air temperature (°C, °F) and sea surface circulation (kt, m/s) Flow Animation: streamlines presenting the flow of the wind, the waves or the sea currents depending on the chosen model Isobars: Add the isobars layer on top of the chosen forecast with option under menu Interactive map: Zoom in and out and move the map to any place of interest. Point of interest: Clicking on any point on the place covered by the forecasting model, will provide a fast view of the forecast value on the chosen point. Clicking on the orange arrow on the advice, will begin a summary of the forecast for the whole forecasting period for this point. City labels: Clicking on town labels, opens a summary of the forecast for the whole forecasting period for the specific city. User place: If place trace is permitted, choose on place pin on the right side of the screen to view forecast on your current place. Date time section: Choose a specific date time within the forecasting period or animate the forecasts automatically by clicking on the play button next to the time selector. Help tutorial: Press the exclamation tag on the right of the screen to begin the short guide. UTC and local time options. English and Greek languages. Vertical and Horizontal view enabled. No ads.

dipa dipa: Surely it does its job but it is only a half step forward when compared to the old apk (Poseidon Weather 4): You cannot choose an arbitrary date/time (selection can only be performed sequentially, via user buttons). An necessary bug is that the preference for showing wind direction is not remembered (on startup it is always on). This must be fixed because the wind direction feature is cpu-consuming, esp. on older tablets and phones.
