Zoom to a view of another parts of California with the Place button. Click on traffic camera icons to see a camera photo. Click on a CHP, lane closure, changeable notice sign or chain control icon to view info for that marker. Traffic data is updated every few mins. This is good! Yeah, the place doesn't modernize as you drive. So what. Use Google Maps. If you wish access to all the DOT cameras and the electronic signs for travel times, lane closures, etc., it's good.
