  A Google user: I always liked the style of the retro clock/date widget, but stopped using it as I didn't care for the black background which, realistic as it is, looked a bit 'massive' on the screen. Trouble solved! Text, background- even line colour can be changed, as can the opacity. I installed it a few moments ago and the fresh result is spot-on. It is frightening though, to me, that such a modern design can be considered 'retro'!

  A Google user: Modernize! the developer responded to an email regarding this problem and has sent a workaround and a settings fix and now the application is working once once more. thanks once more for responding. this apk was good until a latest modernize to Android device 9.0 on my Galaxy 9s. now the clock will not hold the correct time. sent an email to the developer but never heard back. hopefully the apk just needs to be updated ,I've been very satisfied with it for a long time, and now it just won't work.
