About the application:

Rewriters will take you along on an journey containing over 60 various wall paintings and will allow you see the diverse faces of Rotterdam. The main tour is around 7 kilometers long and includes work created by a lot of talented artists from Rotterdam, as well as a few internationally popular artists. These works all have an special style which makes every work unique. With the Rewriters-app you will keep background info (text & audio) per artwork and it is possible to see artworks that has “disappeared”. This means that next to the fresh work the graffiti-/street art history of the harbour town has been taken into acc. The route can be downloaded via Wi-Fi in order to walk the route without internet access. We continuously modernize the application with fresh road art and therefore there is always something to explore! Don’t hesitate to send in road art we have missed. Audio & Text In order for you to keep all the background info on the artworks and the artist(s), all artworks are supported by text and audio. Besides all the highlights of the route in the town centre of Rotterdam, there can be found more road art which is not immediately on the route. These artworks can be found by clicking the green exclamation marks. Use When you begin the apk for the first time you will keep instructions. After that you will see the home page where you can select for the Rotterdam Road Art Route Town Centre. When you click on this, the apk will download the route and you can select between an overview of the route (map) or the highlights. If you wish to walk the complete route, you could create sure that you will begin at Rotterdam Central Station. Place on your GPS and internet connection and you are ready to explore the town. From this moment the Rewriters-app is your private tutorial and it will present you the method along countless road artworks. Don’t feel like walking the whole route? No trouble. You can begin anywhere you wish in Rotterdam. The apk will search the nearest artwork and enables you to walk the route from that point. Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Tip Download the route via Wi-Fi (use the offline button underneath the route highlights), this enables you to walk the route without using an internet connection. You don’t only save your data but also the battery life of your smartphone or smartphone.
