As a building surveyor, this has tremendous uses, especially resetting and zeroing the apk, when you've changed the angle of the smartphone longitudinally and laterally. A Google User: Very useful as a fast level when building. Even more useful as an inclinometer in my 4WD car when negotiating side-slopes, as a security aid to assist avoid excessive lean & roll-over. However, it would be nice to be able to set an audible and visual alarm to alert to when the car approaches it's maximum secure lean angle (35 to 40° , or so).
