Receive the most current and relevant Fresh Jersey traffic info on your smart smartphone without ever taking your eyes off the street or your hands off the wheel with SafeTripNJ, sponsored by the Fresh Jersey Turnpike Authority.SafeTripNJ provides real-time, hands-free traffic advisories for every major highway, bridge and tunnel in Fresh Jersey. You simply turn on the application before you begin your adventure. SafeTrip uses your phone’s built-in GPS and the vast data in the Fresh Jersey 511 travel info system to determine when you are approaching traffic disruptions. When there is an incident nearby, SafeTrip broadcasts an advisory. There is nothing to read, click, or scroll through. Just leave your smartphone in the center console or on the seat beside you and focus your attention on the road.By default, SafeTrip broadcasts advisories from within a 10-mile radius, but you have the option to alter the range to your preferred distance. SafeTrip will automatically repeat advisories every 30 mins while you remain within range of the incident, but you can change the setting as well. You can elect whether to hear advisories from all directions or just from the direction you’re traveling (the default), and you have the option of filtering out advisories from different roadway types. If you’re driving on the Garden State Parkway, you can select to hear only Toll Streets advisories. Likewise, if you’re driving on I-78, you can select to hear only advisories for the Highways. The application gives you audio user controls for Play, Pause, Stop, Skip, and Replay All. These controls could not be used while operating your car. If you place/receive a smartphone call while a travel alert is playing and do not have a plan that allows simultaneous data and voice, the alert will pause, and will resume playing when the call has ended. You can elect (in the apk settings) to permit SafeTripNJ to continue playing (or play fresh advisories) while on a call. This option is disabled by default and will initially pause when calls arrive unless you specifically enable it.You don’t need to register to use the apk. SafeTrip operates anonymously. We don’t receive/record any identifying info about you or your smartphone. By default, the apk will report your device-determined speed and place to our servers. The data generated by collecting that info is valuable. It improves our ability to provide real-time info about what is event on our roadways. If you would rather not participate, you will be able to opt out simply by clicking a button on the settings page of the app.The application is based on Info Logistics’ patent-pending "Begin Microphone Platform," which is a queue-driven streaming technology platform used in combination with your phone's built-in GPS.IMPORTANT – This application is intended to be launched while the player is not operating a motor car. Players could not use their mobile device while driving. The Fresh Jersey Turnpike Authority is not responsible for any private injury, property hurt, legal sanction, traffic violation, or any circumstances surrounding the use and/or misuse of this application or mobile device. IMPORTANT - Please note that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
