About the application:

Scale and SticKey makes understanding melody theory easy and enjoyable by synthesizing 5 theoretical concepts (modes, key signatures, scales, chord progressions, and solfa) into the concept of building a Note Squad (TM). Follow these steps to receive started on your adventure to understanding and using melody theory through the Scale and SticKey app: 1. Spin the solfa wheel or drag the solfa slider to place 'do' on a fresh position. 2. Drag the users around the outside of the wheel so that every user lines up with one of the seven solfa positions. (If you receive stuck, click the central circle with the '?' to have the apk move the users for you.) 3. Once every user is on a solfa position, you have formed a Note Squad (TM)! The squad captain has an arrow pointing at his solfa symbol, the key signature is shown in the center of the wheel, and the key is named in the upper left corner. 4. To change squad captains, either double-click on a fresh solfa name or use the arrows under the key name in the top left corner. Each time you set a fresh captain, you are changing to a fresh musical mode. 5. Listen to the scales by clicking the play arrow under the key name. Change the kind of scale using the buttons under the key name. 6. Listen to chord progressions by clicking the arrow under the chord progression. Change the progression style using the buttons under the chord progression, or switch to a fresh progression using the previous / next arrows next to the play button. 7. Play an individual chord by pressing the chord symbols inside the circles just outside the wheel.
