If you have a kid using School Apk for Parents you can have your own private view of the full calendar of happenings, activities and school news. No more out-of-date paper calendars, searching through letters from the school or browsing the site – everything you need to know, when you need it, at your fingertips! Key features of the current ver: - View the school calendar and create it more relevant to you by using the calendar filters and save them to your calendar - View the school news - Keep necessary messages How to Use the Apk At the bottom of the screen there are five tabs: Home: See a summary of the recent news and today’s news. You can click on the happening it will take you to the full happening info. The recent five news stuff can be scrolled through to view the headlines, you can click on the headline to view the full news story. Calendar This can be viewed in two methods; as Month To View or List View. You can switch between these views using the icons in navigation bar at the top of the page. On the centre left is a little calendar icon and on the right is a little list icon. When using the Month To View and one of the dates is marked by a dot, this indicates that there is an happening on that day. If you tap on that date, you will see the happening appear below the calendar. Tap any happening to see more detailed info and a map of the happening place (if applicable). In the List View, you can scroll through all this months happenings, in date order. Once more, you can tap any happening to see more detailed info and a map of the happening place (if applicable). You can even import an happening into your private calendar from your apk, if you choose the import icon. Please note that if an happening is altered in this calendar it will not change the info in your private calendar unless you re-import the data. Messages Shows you all the messages for your school or organisation. Also within this section you can assign yourself to personalised notice groups, simply click on notice groups to activate and deactivate which messages you would like to see. News Shows all the recent stories from your school or organisation. If you tap on any news item you will be able to see more detail. Information: In this tab you can view the schools documentation (if applicable) such as there prospectus, news letters and links to further site links to more info. You can also share the apk via email and social media Calendar Filters: Clicking on calendar filters, this gives you the occasion to only see those calendar stuff that are relevant to you by choosing the Departments and Activities the apk will display. ---- School Apk for Parents is for Android device ver 4.3 and above. Pamela A Staff: To add other various school, go to Home tab then the 3 lines icon in the top right corner. You can find & add more schools there. Then have to switch between them. Annoying that when fresh details is added to News or Dates, no notification appears, only for Messages. Hold missing necessary details from schools. Prefered when it was all emailed.

Scott Young: Very unreliable, messages often don't come through promptly and often at all. Clicking on notifications cause the apk to begin, but the associated notice often isn't anywhere to be found in the apk. Apk is often so slow to begin that it appears that it actually hasn't launched.

Ian McIntosh: Terrible. Utterly pointless piece of junk, although the largest trouble is the school rather than the apk itself. Local school has decided to abandon all conventional forms of communication and substitute it with this rubbish instead. Not everyone has, or wants a phone and then not every one wants to download yet other "apk". No equivalent access to the info for PC players.
