A Google user: There are some another easy screen-off (and sometimes even lock; remember that they're not the same) utilities out there, but this one's the hands-down best. It has the most configurability; and allow me tell you something: The developer listens! I contacted him and explained that "Screen Off & Lock" beneath the activation icon was too long; that it displayed fine in the apk drawer, where text beneath an icon is allowed to wrap to a second line, but it gets truncated on a homescreen, or down in the dock. The reason why the activation icon now says, simply, "Screen Off" beneath it is the effect of that email exchange. The dev resisted at first, but it appears to have been simply because I wasn't making myself clear; but when he saw my annotated screenshots, he GOT it, and immediately agreed to contain it in his next modernize. Gotta' like THAT type of responsiveness. Also, this apk, unlike others, has separate icons for configuration and activation... so that the latter can be either on a homescreen, or, most importantly, down in the dock. This apk, then, covers it all. (Originally posted in 2012 by GREGG DesELMS; edited by him in 2013 for not-originally-noticed typos). I still love it!

A Google user: I place this in my "Notification Toggle" apk and it works perfectly. I tried another apks but they didn't work with Jelly Bean and wouldn't completely shut off the smartphone. I thought it might be "Widget Locker" that was broken but it was the Lock Screen apk I was using. This apk works and has earned my purchase of the donate ver. Good job!
