SecondScreen is an application designed for power players that frequently connect their Android device devices to external displays. It works with your existing screen mirroring solution to give you the best experience possible. With SecondScreen, you can change your device's resolution and density to fit your TV or monitor, enable always-on desktop mode in Chrome, and even turn your device's backlight off, among a few another features. Featured on Pocketables, XDA-Developers, Android device Police, AndroidHeadlines, Android device Community, and Android device Beat! PLEASE READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING: • This apk REQUIRES elevated permissions, granted via root access or adb shell commands. The apk will do nothing if you do not have a rooted device or access to adb. • This apk is ONLY for devices with AOSP / Google experience ROMs. It is not guaranteed to function properly on devices with manufacturer-skinned ROMs. • This apk does not provide screen mirroring capabilities on its own. A Google user: Apk works perfectly and allows me to use normal TV resolutions so that the picture fits the screen without getting black bars on the sides. My one word of caution is that you might have to play with the resolution setting for your device/setup. My Nexus 7 (2013) couldn't hold up at 1080p, either that or the adapter I bought. None the less lowering it to 720p allowed things to run smoothly. I would highly suggest this apk for anyone wanting to mirror their device.

A Google user: I liked it, but the trouble is. I have all of my connectors on from Bluetooth to Wi-Fi connectors so I don't have to do it wireless. Does this only work with Smart TV, because I have a vizio TV that is a flat screen, but isn't very fresh.

A Google user: This apk is just what I required to for my Xperia 1 with its non-standard 21:9 aspect ratio. As mentioned in another reviews it doesn't return the DPI setting to where I had it (little) but rather the next size up (default) this is rather annoying but not the end of the globe. I'm sure this should be fixed in an modernize, hopefully that will happen.

A Google user: This apk is AWESOME!! solved the infamous "black bars" result in S8/Note8 and another non 16:9 screens when casting via cable to a FullHD screen!!! the apk WORKS VERY WELL WITHOUT ROOT! just needs a very easy ADB command. Those negative comments are most likely comming from android device newbies. A easy ADB command and works like a charm. Saved my day! now I can have a true non stretched screen everywhere (including a second hand hp lapdock x3 that with an specific launter turns the mobile into a laptop!). Would like to give 10 stars. Is there a pay ver I can buy or paypal contribution I can create? thanks a million!

A Google user: I've been testing using an external monitor via HDMI with the Nvidia Shield smartphone. Second Screen is a good apk for auto-switching to adapt the tablet's display resolution to be correct for the external monitor. You're able to tweak the resolution, DPI, and another criteria as required. In my testing, it works well so far and also I didn't have problems upon sleep or wake-up when using Auto Sleeper for vehicle use. Thanks!

Jhangeer Tariq: Awesome apk, can now use custom launcher instead of dex mode. One advice , if you can't revert your display back to normal, just go to your phones display settings and change the resolution up or down so your original system takes over again,then your gratis to select your resolution once more. Please add feature to restart smartphone display and or copy it into a profile so at least it's easier to change back.

Sam Koepnick: Just... Wow Fine! I really hate using the word "mini game changer". But I cannot, for the life of me, think of a better description. This has fundamentally changed the method that I approach remote work. It deserves to be a part of ASOP. USB-C hub with HDMI, ports for power, keyboard and mouse. There are enough customizations to hold you busy when you don't feel like typing out code or doing systems maintenance. I genuinely cannot overstate how useful this is.

A Google user: An absolute lifesaver. I decided to hook my Samsung Galaxy S8 to the TV to play some mini games, only to search out it's stuck in 18.5:9 mode. The workaround of connecting to a Chromecast then changing the ratio was a pain, and just as I was about to give up hope, I search this absolute masterpiece on the Play Shop. Locking rotation, setting resolution, reducing DPI...it does it all. It even sets the launcher to Taskbar for you!
