  Matthew Charles Waterkeyn: It's all I use. From trekking to the foot of Lenin Peak in Kyrgyzstan, to surveying drainage wells in Uzbekistan...to sailing the Mediterranean, to plotting the next adventure...this is simply the best offline map and navigation program I've found. Its easy to use, with multiple topo and satellite layers to select from. Non photo based layers are easy to cache and the nav program is clear. It would be awesome to have nautical troops as an option. Exporting to/ importing from gpx. files is a doddle.

  Thom Parris: Perfect method to interface with GIS A really good method to visualize an place, using a dozens of info sources. As mentioned by another reviewers, maps can easily be cached for offline use, and is probably this app's best feature. Though the maps are somewhat old, they still offer awesome info for the price, so good value, too.

  Paddy Devlin: Good apk. I can't trust how comprehensive the maps are. For a lot of countries I have walked through (balkans) these are still the best maps accessible. One improvement would be the addition of the 1:50,000 maps that the soviets did in certain places (bulgaria for example)

  A Google User: I like it too! I have used this to map a wildfire from a helicopter. It worked beautifully. Its strengths are: the caching of maps (only 250K in Australia); easy and uncomplicated; and, the very easy sharing of track files. This latest feature is critical in a tight work environment. It meant our GIS wiz received the track file, and produced a map and delivered to the incident controller within 10-15 mins of completing the circuit around the fire. There are more strong apks, packed with functions, but this remains a favourite in my toolbox of GPS apks. Works nicely with a B/T GPS. The only improvement would be the option to contain UTM coords.

  This is my favourite navigation program for sailing and land based exploring. Perfect satellite mapping which you can cache and then have fun without Internet connection. Perfect track storage and historic track display. Attractive and rich solid player interface. Has never crashed or showed down when I required to know where I was! Prefer this to stupid Google Maps that forces a download of each satellite map file once more and once more. And then if the Internet drops, you are lost! And more reliable and convenient than any another I have found.

  John Parsons: Most interesting apk ever! Simple to use, all the various map choices are useful and fun to compare. I highly recomend it. I bought the paid ver, that could say how much I like it. Told a mate with a Iphone 6 about it. He was unable to search it. Guess that is why I love androids so much. I would suggest a Iphone ver be created. Thanks for a cool apk. Would like an offline map be accessible as well.+
