  A Google User: Exactly what it sounds like Yup, it's an authenticator for your smartphone. It gives you a password if you ever need to take this off your acc, and it says to save it! Don't be stupid, save that email.

Like some others have said, most of the 1-star reviews appear to be from those who haven't read the instructions or are trying to receive it to work in methods it's not designed for. Pro advice - be sure you login to the acc management system (see link in the apk description) and search your emergency removal password. Save this somewhere external to the Square Enix site, like in Evernote or something like that. This method if your apk gets restart unexpectedly you can easily remove the authenticator from your acc without too much fuss.

When it says sign in ID don't use your email address... and follow prompts on site before following this apk so the site can send the registration code to your email. ... After the hassle of registering and writing down the emergency removal password, this apk is very useful and type of cool... Though they could rename it from ONE TIME password to EVERY TIME password!
