About the application:

The 14 devotions, or stations, focus on specific happenings of His latest day, beginning with His condemnation. The stations are commonly used as a mini pilgrimage as the individual moves from station to station. At each station, the individual recalls and meditates on a specific happening from Christ's latest day. Specific prayers are recited, then the individual moves to the next station until all 14 are complete.   Those who are impeded can gain the same indulgence if they spend at least one half an hour in pious reading and meditation on the Passion and Death of our King Jesus Christ.   The Stations of the Cross, are a method to pray and meditate on Christ's sacrifice for us. There are in total fourteen stations from the time he was condemned to his burial. This devotion has been long encouraged by the church and is especially useful during Lent and Awesome Friday.   The celebration of the Stations of the Cross is especially common on the Fridays of Lent, especially Awesome Friday. Community celebrations are usually accompanied by different songs and prayers. Particularly common as musical accompaniment is the Stabat Mater. At the end of each station, the Adoramus Te is sometimes sung.   Historically Christians meditated on the scenes portraying the Passion narrative as penance. Although the practices may have evolved over the centuries, the focus remains the same: to repent of sin, to renew our faith, and to prepare to celebrate joyfully the mysteries of our salvation.   * Features: -
