  Dalton Leathers: Works and it is gratis Don't listen to the people who don't know what they are talking about. If you wish this to work you need to know how it works and how to use it. This detects the screws in the walls, so you need to navigate both horizontal and vertical on the walls to search where the drywall is actually screwed into the stud, thus locating the stud itself.

  Blake Melton: Works good! I used to just use my camera and place it in selfie mode then look at it and it would circle the stud every time as soon as it recognized me. For some reason it wouldnt work for another people though, hmm, oh well. Anyway, that never was much assist for findfing wooden studs in the wall. So, this works much better for that. It works by finding the metal sheetrock screws or nails which could only be in the studs.

  Zech Courkamp: Hit stud first test! I think its necessary to emphasize that this is a screw detector or metal detector not a wood detector. I place 3 holes in wall with my own estimates of 16 inches off a switch and found I was 1 inch off where I found the stud. It's necessary to search the exact spot on your smartphone where the magnet is. It took my case and back cover off and found the spot and used a screw to do that. Then first attempt I hit the stud!

  stewart counts: Can't trust this is gratis This worked good. Found studs in under a min, you're a fool if you spend cash on one of these in a shop. That being said I just required it to search a wooden stud behind thin sheet rock but sure as hell beats buying a true one.

  joshua wallace: This apk works good. On your galaxy S8, the magnet thing is your finger print unblock "button". So slightly off center of the smartphone beside the camera iris. This easily gets you within 0.5 inches of the nails in the stud. Lower the sensitivity down to hone exactly in.

  Joe Walean: Best application for a stud searcher I was on the fence of wanting to pick up a black Decker stud searcher but then I wanted to see if Google play shop has a stud searcher apk and here I found this hidden gem, but I was very reluctant because I thought it woupnt work as well as an actually stud searcher but hey I thought why not receive it a test and to my belief it actually works just as awesome and maybe even better. I mounted my television on my wall and it looks good! This apk is a goldmine!!!

Also the magnetic field sensor is not usually in the center of the smartphone, mine seems to be close to the flash in a Galaxy S7.

  Willie: Fine I found the stud on the second test. I held down the activate button swept across where I thought a stud was, got the beeps and straight up the line of lights I tried my first screw and it was off by about an inch. Moved over to the left and solid stud action baby! Hung up my massive Costco fire extinguisher with 4 screws holding the bracket (I even cheated and place the another two screws in at an angle and hit the stud). I have stud finders in my drawer that I paid awesome cash for and they were less accurate. In my manufactured home I'm not surprised I missed the first test, I think the guys who built it were drunk and probably sank plenty of nails off from the stud... I've seen it in my remodel work plenty!
