  John Gregg: Swiss Map I ran this apk without issues for 2 years on an Iphone. Then I changed to the Android device ver. There was a minor hiccup when an modernize caused the map tiles to vanish, but they soon reappeared. My smartphone then ran out of memory (too a lot of images!). When I cleared it, Swiss Map refused to run, even when reinstalled. I e-mailed _swisstopo-Support-CD and Mr Thomas Kaufmann immediately diagnosed the trouble and guided me to delete the files corrupted by the smartphone crash. All now excellent once more Top customer service!

  kate fountain: hiking in Switzerland Having had failure with another hiking gps systems (not being very "techy") and having read awful reviews for this apk, I was very wary about buying it, but I was reassured by the prompt response from the assist line and, having taken the plunge, I now have no regrets at all. I bought it yesterday morning and went for a two hour walk along a bisse in Valais - a walk I already knew well - just to test out the apk. The maps are incredibly clear and the gps on my Nexus 4 was absolutely spot on! I now have confidence to buy maps for longer, more complicated walks. I am very satisfied with my purchase. It is easy to use, simple to understand and I can just receive on with the business of walking, which is what I have fun. I haven't tried buying fresh map tiles yet, but t looks fairly straightforward. I intend just buying for each hike as I do it, which means that I won't be wasting cash on maps I don't need. It really does seem to do exactly what I wanted it to do. Very satisfied.

  Ingo Ehlen: All I need for my holiday hiking trip I used the apk now for the third hiking holidays in Switzerland and it is just good. It gives me all accurate data for planning and during the trip. Usability is awesome and no problems with performance. I never had to pay anything but receive my maximum from the apk. Just love it.

  Yak Zamba: Eine wirklich UNVERZICHTBARE Apk für's Wandern, Berge, usw... Gutes Konzept, hat sogar Track-Recording. Unzählige Male benutzt und ich liebe sie. ABER.... stürtzt bei mir auf dem Samsung Note 4 leider immer wieder ab, doch bin ich sicher dass das bald in den Griff gekriegt wird und dann nur noch das Positive überwiegt.   Savoy Knight: Generally OK but download for offline usage is weak The maps are perfect (and could be at the price of CHF 38.- per year). The Application is only mediocre, with a very weak download function for offline map usage, only allowing the download of little sections of maps at a specific resolution and with no indication of what is locally stored. Miserable if you are planning a long trip. Most people who can afford 38.- per year probably have a decent phone with enough GBs to shop the entire map base. Unless this feature is improved, I am not renewing my subscription. (ver 2.2)

The authors could receive their act together and deliver value for the cash. AND, I haven't figured out how to add the shortcut to my home screen (the apk is not listed in my purchased apk list).

  A Google User: OK. But too pricey. Online usage is too expensive considering the same maps are accessible for gratis (and faster to use) on mobile.map.geo.admin.ch. Prices for offline usage are OK when compared to what printed maps cost. But I prefer printed maps for hiking - much lighter and easier to read and use in the outdoors than a smartphone.

  Cédric Dufour: The map material is impressive but that thanks to SwissTopo, not Swiss Map Mobile. The application itself is a nest of frustration as far as usability is concern. A link to the PDF manual (currently hidden on the swisstpo.ch web website) in the apk itself would assist. A import/export *directly* to file (XOL/GPX/LOC) would really assist.

  Stijn Vermeeren: The only feature of interest to me here (which is not already implemented better in the Switzerland Mobility apk) are the ski touring maps. The usability of this apk unfortunately has a lot of flaws. The lack of an overview of which places have been downloaded is a deal-breaker. Until this is fixed, I'll hold using the Switzerland Mobility apk and printed ski touring maps instead.

  Michael Moser: Tolle Karten aber das Subscription-System gehört überdacht! Die Karten sind 1A, die Apk. ist aber ziemlich minimalistisch und die 1000 Gratiskacheln weg wie nichts. Dass man sich dann keine "Kachel-Pakete" je nach Bedarf kaufen kann, sondern gleich ein teures Abo erwerben muss, finde ich nicht gut und für nur gelegentlichen Gebrauch viel zu teuer.

  Lloyd Buck: Perfect except the revised pricing This could be a really awesome apk, however it would seem the developer has removed the option to buy additional map tiles, and the only method to view more of the maps is to buy a yearly subscription costing £27.49. Seeing as I only need a few additional tiles in one specific region which would previously have cost £2.50, this is an unacceptable amount to pay, and is very annoying.

  David Hughes: Attractive maps, but the apk is almost ruined by dumb programming bugs. It crashes frequently. After a crash it needs multiple retries before it restarts cleanly. And some parts of the player interface design are just incomprehensible. Worst of all, it eats INSANE amounts of data because its map caching is totally broken. This afternoon it used 630 MB of data in less than four hours of use for a walk in a little place near the Pilatus, even though I had supposedly "preloaded" the place beforehand. Also it doesn't track your position in real-time, which is disappointing. If the developers ever fix these bugs then this apk will be brilliant, well worth paying for, but they'll have to do a lot better than this.
