(Late Aug/Sept)Voice Control Feature:You can click the Microphone icon in the apk and simply say your command - voice activation tries to first match by the switch name that shows in your list of devices (and you can change under Device Settings), but if it can't search that it will test to match to the place you chosen when you first setup your Switchmate(s). And you can even use "all" to control all switches within range! Here are some examples:"Turn Kenny's Room light off""Turn on my living room lights""Turn all my lights off""Bedroom on"We covered a awesome amount of variation in voice commands but if you search one that doesn't work definitely allow us know and we'll see what we can do to receive it added in! Permissions:- Place Permissions are unfortunately needed for BLE by Android device - we're large on privacy and unfortunately there is no method around not requiring Place to be enabled on Android device because we cannot scan for BLE devices without it, and that is why the apk will not function without it. Beyond that we do use place data only when Welcome Home is enabled so we can tell you're nearing home in order to optimize battery (so we're not looking for Switchmates all the time!). This data is often cached from another apks and we simply grab that data so in most cases we aren't making fresh place checks - it's not transmitted off your smartphone to us at all.- Background Service & Waking your device permissions are also used for Welcome Home so we can ping your Switchmate to allow it know you're home without the apk needing to be begin.- Internet permissions are used for checking for firmware updates & sending us crash reports (via Google Crashlytics)- Bluetooth & WiFi permissions are needed for communicating with your Switchmate devices.Requirements:- Switchmate Device(s) of course!- Android device 4.4.4 is needed so we can use Bluetooth Low Energy in order to save a lot of battery!Switchmate devices are currently only sold in the US and Canada

Is so cool to receive home from work & press a button on my smartphone 2 turn the lights on 4 me! Ive been looking at another devices 4 quite a while to do this but the prices receive rediculas for them! G B: Love the device. You can't beat the simplicity and genius design. Anyone can use it! It is nice not to have to receive up to turn on/off the night, but the lack of WiFi is the part that gets me. I'd love to be able to control when I'm not home. However, the timer feature is independent of me, so it's a good power saver! I have Alexa... when will it be able to pair to Alexa, or will you come out with a WiFi enabled ver???

Daniel Janow: I had been looking for something related to this for a while, just to control a ceiling fanatic (summer in the South gets hot) and stumbled upon these switches. Turned it on, paired to the apk, and have had no issues since. Would like to see a widget for my home screen, but it's not a deal breaker for me. Everything works as expected and I'll probably pick up a couple more soon.

Joseph Ryerson: The apk is simple as pressing a button from blue tooth range to flip a switch. Good for when i'm in bed and someone comes in and turns on the light, so I can quikly turn it back off. Also, is there a widget for this apk? If not, then I think you could create one so you dont need to begin the apk.

Mike S: Does what it describes it could do. It took less that a min to connect my smartphone with the wall switch. I had a schedule set up shortly after. I went in knowing that the apk connects the smartphone with the switch over Bluetooth. As long as I'm in range, the apk finds the device just ok.

David Williams: The switches have gotten a lot better at doing what they're supposed to. I've only had my switches flake out a few times since the earliest versions, but like any technology, it gets better as they tweak it out. Hold up the awesome work! Looking forward to direct Google Assistant control (soon™)

Good idea. This product is unbelievable and it does work as stated. Here's the deal. You can only pair it to 1 or 2 devices at the same time but it would only work on 1 device if you want to operated it. It does work with GOOGLE NOW VOICE CONTROL ON YOUR PHONE also. Easy to install...just stick it on your light panel and it automatically snaps on...SERIOUSLY THAT'S IT ! . Bluetooth on your smartphone does the rest plus the apk. I love it....SWITCHMATE please create it compatible with Alexa or GOOGLE HOME. But anyways....thanks for the idea.

David I-Chen Lin: Helping you guys out here. The recent firmware for my switchmate finally makes it a bit more usable. Doesn't take forever to flip the switch. But the fact that the switch only works on one of the 10 switches (rocker kind) is quite ridiculous. Please fix that design flaw and add Alexa help then this will be actually a nice innovative product.

Easy to install...just put it over your LIGHT panel and walla! It paired with my smartphone easily. It works excellent for me. I'm not sure why so a lot of low ratings tho. Either they are TROLLS for another companies or just plain ignorant. This product does what is advertised.

Scott Nina: Installed on Nov 11th, 2017, Saturday at 4:30 pm. Device: Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. Android device tool ver 7.0 and the Switchmate firmware ver is 2.99.16 and the Switchmate ver is 3.0.12 (68). The following must be enabled: wi-fi, bluetooth and place. Create sure these are enabled to ensure a proper installation. The switch friend device and the switchmate apk work flawlessly. The switch friend device works with toggle style and rocker style lighting switches. I hope this review helps anyone who decides to invest these products. I suggest these products. This is my honest review.

RON GUAY: Simple as pie to setup. Beautiful useful device with lots of possibilities. Add Tasker and Tasker Network Happening Server (TNES) and it works over WIFI too. Should not receive it to work with Google Assistant...but they say there are improvments. We'll see...

Douglas Johnson: I have a question about this apk. I have bought two, one for my overhead garage lights and other for my flood lighf. My Android device S6 will locate one switchmate all day long but the another icon will grey out at times. If I reset my smartphone, the icon will turn blue once more. Is there a glitch in the apk or my switchmate that I had bought? I would give this apk a 5 if I knew what is event. Please allow me know. My timers are working.out good though.

Matt Chandler: Not really sure why there's so much dislike for the product. Got it at Target for $25. Popped it on the switch with the super powerful magnets. Peaked it in a min and awesome to go. While process was like 3 mins. Took off 1 star because it needs my gps place to use the Bluetooth light switch or the apk closes. Not a fanatic of that permission, especially since I hold gps off to save battery.

Gary Duncan: I picked up the Switchmate on the clearance isle at Wal-Mart thinking this is just the thing for my gf who started a 2nd shift job recently. I got everything complete and it won't touch the flat-panel kind switches I have. It was supposed to have an adapter according to the directions but I guess whoever returned it must have kept it for a souvenir. H Now I'm stuck. Can Switchmate assist me? Samantha Kucera: It works ok on android device 4.4.2 if you don't upgrage to the fresh ver. I have 3 devices and 2 of them are android device 4.4.2 they will still work normal if you don't make batter past apk ver 3.0.10. (66) . But they do fail on 3.1.X. ....Firmware 2.99.16.. When you switched to low energy Bluetooth that required adaptations to the tool that can't be handled by 4.4.2. You should contain both Bluetooth protocols in the apk and switch based on android device ver for lower end phone/tablets. It would create the tool a bit bigger but less compatibility problems.

Joseph Coberly: Apk seems laid out beautiful well, but the product it works with are garbage. Bought a switchmate instant smart light switch, worked for literally 30 second before the moving parts inside got locked in the on position. Will be returning to shop tomorrow and never buying this brand once more.
