What is TaleBlazer? Developed by the MIT Scheller Teacher Education Tool (STEP) lab, TaleBlazer is an augmented reality (AR) mini game platform which allows players to play and create their own location-based mobile mini games. Wish to create your own TaleBlazer mini game? Visit us at taleblazer.org. TaleBlazer mini games take put in the true globe. Users interact with virtual heroes, objects, and data as they move around their true place. TaleBlazer mini games can be played on most GPS-enabled Android device and iOS smartphones. Once a mini game is downloaded to your phone, you don't need an internet connection to play your games. Organizations such as zoos, nature centers, historic places, living history museums, schools, universities, and a lot of others can use augmented reality mini games to engage visitors deeply with their real-world environment. TaleBlazer mini games generally take put outside, using GPS for positioning. However, with TaleBlazer it is also possible to create indoor mini games which do not use GPS position. Why use TaleBlazer? TaleBlazer mini games can be compelling programs to engage users in thoughtful role-playing, exploration or investigation activities. Players can play AR mini games designed around nearly any topic. In addition to playing mini games, players can create their own mini games. The process of making an AR mini game can also be educational and fun. The web-based TaleBlazer editor, which uses a blocks-based scripting language, makes it simple for anyone – including students - to create their own AR mini games. The ‘Help’ section of the site includes another resources and guides to receive players started.
