  A Google user: The apk for the Boston World E-Paper works good on my Samsung 7. The apk brings up a full copy of the World as it is printed. In order to read an article, simply click on the article you wish to read and the entire article appears with no need to turn pages of the paper - just scroll down to read the entire article; click your back arrow to return to the page. The upper right corner includes the link to another sections. Click on the link to navigate to any section you wish. Based on the negative reviews, I almost didn't download the apk. The combination of the revised edition and fresh equipment makes this very worthwhile. Nest project is to receive the E-paper to work on my wife's I-Pad,

  Kev K: Apk has worked 100% of the time on my S7. Only had to enter the password once. When I begin the apk it verifies my subscription is active and I can begin viewing today's paper immediately. Zooming in on articles is good, you can either zoom in or click to view as text and it seamlessly takes you through the article. If you stay zoomed in you can navigate to the next article without zooming out.

  Dee Hallet: Not nearly having problems others have. BTW... Why does an old Trump-vs-Fiorina article hold showing up? page 29 on 3/17, overrides Sanders article today when you're in article-per-page mode. 4/7/16 modernize - Trump-vs-Fiorina article, page 29, showing up AGAIN, how annoying!!! And once more today, 6/21/16, page 28, overrides Campaign Notebook articles... enough already!!!

  A Google user: I read the paper on my smartphone. I really like the apk. I flip through browsing the paper like the physical edition, pick an article, then either "pinch N zoom" to stay with the print copy format, or poke to view a clean text ver. I've a digital subscription because it's not delivered in my area.(I just realized this app's been downloaded LESS THAN 100X..!!? Wow! This is place out by that hugely well known newspaper *The* Boston World, right? Do you guys just not advertise yourself in your own newspaper?)

  Lalor Burdick: Uses 2GB even after deleting all downloaded papers. Probably have to reinstall to receive down to a reasonable size. It does work OK on my old Nexus 10. Now it's downloading and archiving problems even though I'm only reading online and was at 305mb this morning. Deleted the two downloads and it's back to 111mb. Less buggy than before, though. 12/7 - It's bloated back up to 188 mb without any downloads!

  A Google user: This is an improvement over the prior apk., but still needs a lot of work. There is no ability to automatically delete old downloads, there is no indication where you are in the download and unzipping process. Often I begin the download and it just seems to freeze. Without some indication of progress this becomes very frustrating. On the plus side, navigation is very awesome once the download is done.

  Rod Holland: The most latest modernize fixed the major howling failures of the early release versions. Specifically, the apk now starts up and displays today's paper without the need to resort to one or more workarounds at each step. There are still some rough edges, awkard pauses, etc., but this ver of the tool has graduated from disaster to mediocrity. It's now awesome enough to let me to read what remains a beautiful awesome metropolitan everyday paper, with a minimum of distractions.

  A Google user: Modernize: still busted, download for offline almost never works. FIX !!! This is unacceptable! They broke it. The fresh ver is so awful it is hard to describe. For example, I downloaded a paper. I'm now disconnected from the net. And now I can't read it? Just awful. Fix it already!!! Modernize: 5/3/2016 - still awful. And today it just won't download the paper at all. 8/28/16 it got better for 2 months, now doesn't work at all with Android device 7. Won't complete download. 6/1/17 - works most of the time now. sometimes have to force quit, but it does receive the paper now most of the time.

  David King: The old ver allowed me to zoom in on any part of the full page. This ver only lets me see one story at a time, numbered sequentially. So frustrating! I've already stopped using the WashPo apk because of related limitations. And now the World? What a disappointment...

  Kit Brady: Compared to my another apks this apk takes a really long time to load. Then after loading it takes a while to verify the subscription each and every time I begin it. Then it takes forever to download the actual paper. It would be useful if there were some setting or the paper would automatically download during the evening when you're on Wi-Fi so that it's ready in the morning when you wish to read it rather than have to wait to do all these steps to read it particularly when you're in a hurry to receive out the door to work.

  Bernie Coyne: With this fresh March 209 release of the apk I am satisfied to learn that developers are still working on this. But I am very disappointed that the apk seems to have regressed. Here are my recommendations for improvement: 1. The page no longer fits my 10" smartphone without resizing every page manually. 2. The fresh navigation across the top of the page is unnecessary. I know you have a toggle to hide it so create that the default. 3. The download no longer shows a progress bar. Without it you do not know whether it is actually downloading or not. 4. It still has the annoying behavior of checking your credentials if connected to the internet even though you have already downloaded today's paper. 5. I really miss the hyperlinks that used to appear when an article is continued to other page. 6. Please review these recommendations and others on this page on how to improve this apk. Even reach out directly to these customers and have them beta try the apk next time so that you can receive some true globe feedback and change this into a better rated experience for customers. Thank you.

I used to read the World every day on my smartphone, but now I hardly even check the apk to see if it will work today - the bigger question is, why am I still paying for my subscription?

  Dominick Galang: This is not just a various apk. It's a awful one. Loading screen appears and stays MINUTES after your subscription has been verified. Even after downloading the day's paper, the loading screen returns once more and once more for no reason. Zooming in and out is slow to answer and the same with moving from page to page. Large disappointment and far inferior to the previous apk we are forced to abandon.

Now it's stuck on a ten day old paper, so I am removing it to reload and see what I receive. I have the Fresh York Times, The Economist and The Wall Road Journal apks, and they are so superior they're in a various league.

  James Baron: If I turn the page more than 2 or 3 times, there is lag of up to 30-60 seconds before the next set of pages can be displayed. I can then display the next couple of pages with no trouble, and then I receive other lag of up to 30 - 60 before the next few pages can be loaded. I love the World compared to the Herald, but this is unworkable.
