About the application:

The Burg is a digital public square. In short, we lower the barriers to access your community, local news, and local politics. We funnel local news and local reps directly to verified voters, and we put voters (and nonvoters) in their actual voting districts. We have so a lot of places for online communities, but no online place for our actual community. Democracy works from the bottom up, not top down and the local level is where you wield the most power. *Local News The Burg automatically refreshes local news at 8 AM and 3 PM every day, always keeping you up to date with what is event in your area. *Verified Voters in Your True Community Your Burg is created up of the true people that live and vote in your town. We've set up our algorithm to directly reflect your community - which means we rely on your upvotes and downvotes to sort the best content. All voting is anonymous and can vote on any post or comment you wish - no strings attached. Ever had a conversation that didn’t completely change your mind but created you go “hmm”. It’s a reminder there are unlimited perspectives. Hit the infinity symbol and allow someone know their post or conversation created you think. *How to Post You can directly post on The Burg in 3 methods: 1. write a post 2. submit a link 3. organize an happening. Speak you peice, share a riveting article, or organize a volunteer happening. We create it simple to stay abreast of the info and act on it. We designed The Burg to host true back and forths, agreements, disagreements, and hopefully meeting in the middle. Conversations are the lifeblood of The Burg, so have them - even the tough ones.
