Info in this apk is based on “The Florida Trail Tutorial” by Sandra Mate and John Keatley. The Florida Trail Tutorial is a detailed, map-based phone tutorial for your hike on the Florida Trail. It lists necessary hiker waypoints on the FT such as water sources, shelters, tenting websites, street crossings, resupply places, and may others. NO PHONE OR INTERNET SERVICE IS REQUIRED to use The Florida Trail Tutorial after the initial setup. The Florida Trail Tutorial uses a combination of your smartphone's GPS, downloaded topo maps, and the Google Maps interface to accurately locate your position on the trail. Your phone's GPS pinpoints your place on the downloaded maps.The gratis demo covers the 42.3-mile Blackwater route from the Florida-Alabama border to Harold. The demo is fully function with all features of the paid ver. In-app purchases contain sections of the Florida Trail. A bright red line indicates the place of the main trail on the map. Side spurs to water sources or another points of interest are indicated in blue. Waypoints of interest to the hiker are plotted on the map. There are also markers on the map every mile or kilometer of the trail track.The elevation profile shows trail distance versus elevation and plots your current place on the trail. Each waypoint is plotted on the profile. Each waypoints is clickable, opening to the waypoint's detail page.The guidebook lists every waypoint in order by distance along the trail and how far away you are from each waypoint. Send your current place to mates and family via text notice or e-mail.Each waypoint contains a detail page, providing further info about that particular waypoint. Info contain the waypoint's mileage point and elevation, photographs of the waypoint, distance to the next water source and campsite, a Trail Register where you may post comments and read another players' comments, and another info that will assist you during your hike, and assist you plan your hike. The types of waypoints include:-->Water sources (including the reliability of each water source)-->Tenting sites/camping sites/shelters-->Trail junctions-->Parking places along the trail-->Picnic places, campgrounds, ranger stations-->Roads, railroad tracks, power lines-->Privies/restrooms-->Towns on the trail

Forlorn Freddy: Very helpful We just got off a section of the OTL trail. It was good knowing the mileage, distances to camp, water sources, etc. We did take the alternate loop trail from the Loop 4 camp all the method to Gate 2 of Dupuis. Unfortunately, the mileage is not listed for those which would have been nice to have. I'll probably purchase other section when the time comes.

Dave Colborn: Good!! Armed with this apk, and a powerful desire to finish the Florida National Scenic Trail, I did just that. Receive in a tiny shape (my recommendation is walk 10 miles a day, three days in a row with full package weight and you're physically in the mini game. set up your tent or hammock and sleep in it in the rain, poop in a hole a couple times and bam. You're thru hiker bound). Lose your excess gear, and go!! Over nighting or thru hiking the details in the apk assist with water, camping and resupply, for those of us that need it. It created an enjoyable hike even more so. Go!! Do it!!!

Ron Merrell: Good apk with good interface Well worth the cash which could assist developers hold it current. I had 1 problem my first time out where a section has been rerouted. I was using it like the gospel and took a turn down what appeared to be a much older path when I could be monitoring for orange blazes more often. I notified the developer and was assured they'll check this week and correct. As long as they hold everything current and supply rapid updates, this apk will be well worth the little cost.

Dr. John: I would not wish to hike the FT very far without this apk. That said, I have thru hiked the trail, and recommend one only section hike the few awesome parts: it is not worth the effort of thru-hiking.

Richard Follet: I was very satisfied with this apk, then the latest map I bought had problem launching because it was missing a file? It said. Help told me I required to delete the apk and reload it. I did that, and then the map loaded fine, but I then had the old map ver. I know this because the another people I was hiking with had updated versions that had the re-directed trail for Three Lakes WMA just past the FL Turnpike. Didn't realize it until I got out there.

S. T.: The trails you see on their site are not on the apk. I bought the apk with the assumption that the trails on their website would also be on their apk, and I would use the apk out of on the trails with my bicycle. So I paid $6.99 to unblock Ocala, Northeast Florida. The trails I required (that were on the website) were not on there. So I contacted the website owners, asking for assist to figure out where the trails were, or to refund my cash, and I received no response.

rwingjr: Totally useless unless you purchase the maps separately. Just a warning to others who create consider downloading it. There are much better resources that are gratis or low cost. This isn't one of them.
