  Keith Gilroy: This is a good apk if you wish to read a everyday newspaper. Not sure why the awful reviews but I have noticed a lot of them say the independent is fake news so there's an agenda there. The independent is most certainly not fake news it is a very established and trusted news outlet which is usually as the title suggests the main news sections are unbiased and independent and cover a lot of angles. Columnists and opinion pieces obviously are less so but that's the nature of columns and opinion pieces. Whatever you think of the reporting it is certainly not fake news. Good apk very enjoyable and simple to use. If you wish a gratis apk where you don't have to purchase the paper the independent also provided independent live.

  Tom Putnam: This apk doesnt deserve a low rating. I've not found a low star review to have any points. The Independent reports responsibly from a left leaning point of view. When I wish parity I use Reuters. But ignoring the politics, and ignoring the content, the apk is true smooth. It maintains the newspaper format and I found it satisfying to swipe through. I've been using the 7 day trial. I will maintain a weekly subscription for a short while. But as I don't read newspapers all the time I will probably unsubscribe in the future. However the apk allows you to buy the paper one at a time. If I should suggest any changes. I'd like an improvement to the crossword. I reccommend giving the trial a go.

  Kim Blackwell: Updated: It does the basics – rendering the (perfect) paper articles in an easily readable form on smartphone or smartphone which from reviews, another newspaper apks don’t a lot of the time. Now seems to have everything that the paper ver had. Also pictures now render full screen when you tap on them (used to just go black). No video clips (like the Times) or index of articles (the gratis ver does). Downloads in the background when on wireless connection.

  S George: I like this Unlike some another reviews: This is method superior to the gratis apk. It works without freezing from badly-timed fetching. The navigation is good. The layout and presentation is superior to another newspaper apks. Some reviewers don't seem to have found the navigation, but I fail to see how. I think the Dev Squad have done a good job. Hold it up.

  Mark Dunlop OldContent: Really liking now My initial view was dislike as it felt odd to have to download and navigation and content was reduced. Content has improved a lot as has stability. I now really like the download (though higher compression would be awesome). Page turning like a ebook is also nice now I have settled into it it makes me read more news and not just skim the headlines. Not quite 5* yet as still has some stability issues, adverts load slowly and still some Radar content missing. But yeah awesome newspaper and i like the apk, well done Independent

  borderpatrolmacaque: Buggy Wish to see this news source survive now that it is digital only but the crossover from paper has been ill-conceived resulting in this buggy apk. Randomly downloads everyday edition automatically and fails to boot up past the title screen often (a 2nd attempt fixes this usually). Paying customers deserve better so it is in your interest to sort it out.

  Fab content, apk still buggy Have been a subscriber to the Indy since day 1. Without that I am not sure I would have persevered with an apk that keeps crashing. Content is still improving and Robert Fisk and Patrick Cockburn absolutely essential journalists to hold us honest.

  Luke Ruby: A awesome begin, but needs improvements. The apk does a awesome job of rendering the text. However it feels just a tiny clunky and unresponsive at times, and the lack of 'immersive mode' is disappointing, but i'm hopeful that this will be introduced in awesome time.

Sometimes smooth another times as you scroll the next page hasn't loaded. Fiddly to pull up menu (appears when you wish it not when you don't). Also please bring back the quiz!

  John Edwards: Bug ridden ..'Now fixed' BROKEN AGAIN! Many/most photos another than that at the top of the page are not shown if offline at the time you go to that page, just a blank placeholder, along with the caption. If you then disconnect and move off the page, the photos are gone when you return. Some photos present full-screen when tapped, most present a black screen, online or not. *NOW FIXED* A significant part of the content is USA originated, esp. The Washington Post, some Newsweek. Stupid level of typos, even in headlines.

  Tim Court: Some issues I would like to know how to direct downloaded editions to SD card. Also access to some means of archiving/deleting multiple editions rather than one at a time. I think downloads to one device lead to the download being replicated to other device which I wouldn't normally wish. So this is a request for some options to manage storage place better since it is a recurring trouble on Android device devices.

  Steve Burnett: I have been an Independent reader for a lot of years. Futhermore, I fully ebraced the online / apk only format. However, the apk is sorely lacking in features and usability, articles are littered with typos and errors, and the standard of reporting has become hugely unbalanced. I valued the old Independent standards of representing all sides of the debate with smart writing - it has sadly become far too biased.

  Matthew Bloomer: Content awesome but apk very flaky Recent ver of the apk has not worked on over a week on my Nexus 7 (but is ok on my Sony Z3 Compact). Very frustrating! Even before this week the apk sometimes started, sometimes didn't. A much less smooth experience than on my iPad Mini 2 which just works. Please create the Android device apk work as well as the Apple one!
