About the application:

The Philokalia is a collection of spiritual Greek texts compiled by St. Nikodemos of the Holy Mountain and St. Makarios of Corinth. The texts are written by different monks from the 4th until the 19th century. They are arranged in chronological order and they create up a total of five volumes, although only four volumes have been translated into English. The material focuses on developing a rich prayer life, and on methods to create progress in the virtues. Often there is a powerful ascetic nature to the material with suggestions for fasting and depriving oneself of luxuries. The application presents the texts in English in an simple to navigate form using menus and tabs. The font size can be changed through the Settings menu.
