  Andrew Phillips: Very nice smartphone and smartphone apk Pleasantly surprised by this apk. I was worried the Spectator had forgotten it's notable Android device fanbase but this apk is very nice. Fluid and very intuitive UI create it a very pleasant experience. Works very well on my Nexus 10 smartphone as well as my Samsung GS3 smartphone. Very impressed.

  Single acc on both iPad and Android device not possible. I have an iPad mini 2 and have recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 mobile smartphone. I had previously installed and activated the Spectator Apk onto my iPad through my iTunes acc and have enjoyed a few months reading the digital ver of the magazine. When I acquired my Note 4 I downloaded the Spectator Apk from the Google Play Shop and tried to activate it as I already had a Subscription acc but I was unable to do so. I was continually prompted to enter a Web Id number which is not issued nor required if you download the Apk from the iTunes shop. I have corresponded with The Spectator online help squad who have been very prompt in responding to my problem, but it would appear that I am out of luck. I need a Web Id reference number to activate the Apk on my Android device device but one is not issued if you initially begin a Spectator Subscription via iTunes. So it would appear that I cannot read the magazine on both devices despite paying for a Subscription, unlike The Times, The Telegraph, The Independent and a lot of another newspapers and magazines, some of which I subscribe to and have fun reading them on both my Apple and Android device devices. Shame really!

  Setnakht: Works well for me Quite a easy, utilitarian apk, which I like - it gets the job done with minimal fuss. Its ease of use I imagine is appreciated also by the older, or at least less technologically-adept, reader. The only additiion I'd recommend making is the ability to change the size of the text.

  Rory Martin: More trendy A vast improvement on the previous apk. It reads very well, especially when using Chromecast to cast onto an HD TV - nice and clear text. Podcast feature is a much welcome development. However, I have to downland the problem to listen to it. Perhaps create it more available? Also apk fails to begin on first opening.

  Kevin Howard: Two significant issues If, when starting the apk, I'm not connected to the internet, performance drops to a snails pace making the apk unusable. This is a shame as I'd intended to read the downloaded content while commuting and off-line. Also, the text size is method too little forcing me to use the Android device magnifier, which is a nuisance. But apart from all that it's perfectly ok.

  Louise Allen: Previous apk ver loaded really quickly. The recent ver now spends an age "checking for fresh content" irrespective of whether there is an active internet connection. Why not just have a schedule option to download fresh content? I have told the apk to only download when on wireless connection so why does it need to check for content when I am not on wireless connection? Tempted to uninstall and cancel my subscription if this isn't fixed

  Richard Weber: Fresh apk ver has fixed the bug of frequent crashing. But it has introduced a fresh trouble. When I test to scroll down a page quickly, the text bounces upwards as if held by a rubber band. Very odd. It forces me to read slowly, scroll slowly, and not skim articles.

  Craig Booth: Assist required I like the apk but...I need assist. After downloading the magazine to my Nexus 7 (1), I usually cannot receive the Read button to work. A black screen results. Sometimes it has worked, but I cannot tell whether there were any various circumstances. Can the developers or anyone offer any tip? P.S. OK, I just shut down the apk (after downloading) and reopened, and now I can read the magazine just ok. Obviously, not a large trouble. Is it normal?

  Iain Garden: OK, but where's the delete? OK to read, but no ability to delete problems after reading. Brilliantly, you are able to delete the apk, reinstall, sign in once more and download, once more, those problems you wish still to have. Do'h! Also, every time you go back to the apk, you have to search your previous put once more. Come on Speccie, receive a grip.

  Carl Ricketts: Even in the recent ver ! If you select to archive an problem under Android device 6 the apks says "resetting" does not archive and fails to load. Needs uninstalling and reinstalling to receive it to load and then redownload the problems once more. Needs an urgent fix ! Now 2 stars

  Run Rabbit: Ridiculous The Fresh York Observer may feel that the magazine is not terrible but the apk on android device certainly is. It flat out didn't work on my old Nexus 5 and it is similarly no awesome at at all on the fresh LG G4. Basically it is useful if you wish to view on your smartphone the cover of the magazine that already arrived in the post and that's it. Actually reading any articles is quite out if the question.

Spectator magazine is a brilliant publication, and I expect better than the current apk from them. Why have they released this application with their name attached to it, and why, after all the negative comments have they failed to replace it with a superior one? Please take responsibility for this failure and rectify it Spectator!!

  roger roger: This is a comment on the updated ver (August 2016), specifically ver 3.0.0.2310.1099. It still crashes every time on start-up: requires a restart and memory clear to run. Also, as far as I can see, the developers have removed the option to change font size. They specifically solicit feedback and reviews here. But then ignore it. Content: 5 stars. Apk: 0 stars if possible.

  Simply doesn't work Running on a samsung galaxy s5, crashes every time I test to begin the most latest magazine within the apk. Unusable in its current form. Very disappointing, especially considering there is a prominent full page advert within the Spectator magazine encouraging you to download the apk!
