  A Google user: The Ricoh supplied apk fails (at least up to now) to do 2 key things that I wanted ; a 1-shot timer and the option to not transfer the photo to the smartphone immediately. This apk simply allows both options (and a whole lot more) and that alone created it worthwhile for me. (Another reviews commenting on connection problems etc have got nothing to do with the Apk I would think and everything to do with the cameras local WiFi - issues that you would surely also receive also with the Ricoh provided apk?)

  Xavier P: I bought this apk because the retail apk was very slow and constantly crashed on my Nexus 6p. I was looking for a light weight apk that I should use more reliably as a remote shutter, wouldn't automatically transfer images to my smartphone, and maintained the core features of the retail apk. This does all that for me. I would only like it more if the manual camera controls were on the main camera page and not in a separate settings page so I should see the changes in exposure in true terms, and I would also appreciate a larger live preview window. Awesome apk!

  Chris Malme: Very nice idea, but twice lost contact with my camera in the middle of a command, leaving the camera in limbo, not talking over WiFi, and not wanting to be turned off. May test it once more when bugs are out of it. Inspected with a Nexus 10 smartphone.

  Ni or Mi: I installed the apk, then started it with the theta camera s and 2 mins later the camera bugged and won't shut down! Searched the net, others have same trouble. I wish a refund!

  Stephen Patience Photography: I had problems right from the begin getting this to pair. Then, without entering my serial no. to pair, I actually got to the screen. I lowered the volume to zero and it still created the noise. The power stays on and now I cannot turn my Theta off. Would definitely not suggest and wish my bloody cash back !
