To save battery the application itself doesn't run in the background, but it simulates it using system events.   • A Google user: I loved the countdown timer the most, bouncing back to preset so intuitively at each reset/completion. Worked beautifully in a "Bee" competetion I was a judge at - impressed all with its professional look, accuracy, and non-obtrusive alarm. Premium is that both countdown and countup clocks can count simultaneously. Choice of sounds would be a welcome enhancement, but one little thing missing is a little "hour" hand on both dials, to acc for them counting hrs too. That would be pure perfection now...
