AOD screen comes with a lot of limitations – the animations don't work, there is no second's hand and it can also use only 15% of screen brightness, meaning it simply has to be darker than the active mode. AOD screen cannot carry over your chosen design – it can only display a single default watchface. All of these are important limitations to hold the battery use managable.
