V1connection, the apk, directly links the fresh Valentine One Generation 2 detector to your compatible Android device device. It also links the now-superseded Valentine One w/ESP detector through either of two optional Bluetooth modules, called V1connection and V1connection LE. See the Threat Picture, a breakthrough in analyzing radar threats. Screen out false alarms with our game-changing Arrow-in-the-Box concept. Every signal on every band gets its own directional arrow and frequency readout. Flashing arrow points to the Priority Alert. Fresh: eSAVVY lets you set a speed below which all fresh warnings will be muted. The apk brings Dark Mode, Muting, and fresh programming options. And now the apk shows you a revolutionary fresh method of analyzing radar threats. ARROW IN THE BOX Radar makers, under penalty of law, must certify to the FCC the frequencies used by the equipment they sell. We constantly monitor those certifications so we know exactly where true radar operates on each band. V1 scans the entire width of all radar bands but to draw your attention to the Active Radar Zones, we outline them with a yellow Box. To be in compliance with federal regulations, all radars (except image) must operate “in the Box.” When you see an arrow outside the Box, that’s probably a false alarm; when it’s in the Box, take the threat seriously until you’ve positively identified it. ADVANCED SITUATION AWARENESS The Threat Picture (aka Picture Screen) displays the entire battlefield and all the radar activity on it. You receive threat place two methods: red arrows point to each threat, ahead, beside or behind your vehicle; and where its frequency territories in on the radar band. There is a separate arrow for each threat within range. SITUATION AWARENESS FOUR WAYS Select among four info screens at any time. The Quad Screen emphasizes place with up to four separate arrow sets, one for each enabled radar band, or one for laser if fewer radar bands are active. The V1 Screen reproduces V1’s front-panel warnings including signal strength, Bogey Counter and Radar Locator plus frequency of the Priority Alert. Or you can select the (Threat) Picture Screen or the Threat List, which shows a list of all signals within range, each accompanied by band, frequency and an arrow to present direction. The list order is arranged according to time tracked, newest signal at the top. A flashing arrow marks the Priority Alert and a yellow “Box” symbol indicates “in the Box.” BEYOND SITUATION AWARENESS Think of V1connection, the apk, as the Master Controller for your V1 system. You can revise programming, change muting, activate dark mode, and save custom programming profiles for various trips. The audible warnings of your Valentine One can now be transmitted through your smartphone to your car's sound system, or to speakers in your helmet if you are a motorcyclist. Any another hook-up that allows you to hear your smartphone can also bring V1's warnings directly to your ear. NEW PROGRAMMING OPTIONS Radar coverage can now be specially tailored to the special radar bands used outside the U.S. Advanced players may wish to tailor the sweeps covering frequencies used here in the U.S. according to special local conditions. Chris Gibson: Works excellent on my Galaxy S3. Items that needs addressed: 1. Resolution/scaling for various devices, but shows perfectly on mine. 2. Landscape mode, would be good then on my 10'' smartphone. 3. Let apk to run in background or atleast remove the need to press agree on every begin. 4. Do not require blue tooth to be on for demo. 5. Let forwarding sound to smartphone, will be good when I have a headset on. 6. Let playing of each sound the V1 will create so we can learn the various sounds and meanings

A Google user: This apk is good, I have no idea what another people are talking about when they say anything less then positive about it. Its gratis, no monthly fee, and another then about a second delay from seeing what the detector says to present up on my smartphone, its a good thing. This apk let's you create the detector go to stealth mode so no one else sees it blinking. With this apk you can tool your V1 right fast. My V1 powered with the waze apk is a sure method to advoid tickets. Can't go wrong.

Tom Brookstone: The cable for 2 dollars the one fellow talks about is off his rocker, present me a 2 dollar Bluetooth dongle that's not garbage. Now onto the necessary review The V1connection is extremely little in size, has a single smartphone line plug, and a single blue LED built into it. You plug the V1Connection (cord included) into your accessory slot on your plug in, or hardwire kit (included with all V1's). You download the apk (which works on a lot of phones that are not listed, try at own risk). Turn bluetooth on, turn the apk and v1 on, could search your V1, your Bluetooth password is 1234 or 0000 Now, lets receive to the awesome part, the arrows in box is a neat feature, frequency display is useful, but what REALLY matter is Ka band custom sweeps, this will turn your V1 into an absolute creature on Ka band, and it also improves another bands. This is what the V1 connection is all about.

G Jaram: I'll echo the comments about one particular problem: 1.Upon startup, PLEASE remove the need to press agree of the privacy policy on every startup. Then the rest of my private comments are: 2. Offer landscape mode so when I tilt the smartphone sideways, screen rotates with it. I have the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD What I really like is having the detector being set to "dark" but hold the display on my smartphone Also having the detector lit up, but on my smartphone, have a various screen showing the frequencies or the band based on what is being detected is nice. Situational awareness demands lots of info. This was one of my another main reasons to switch to a phone, and receive the Valentine 1 Connection blue-tooth adapter. For now 4 stars. As for radar detectors go, Valentine 1 is STILL the only one that offers 360 degree coverage...front and back and side-to-side.

Mitko Ovcharov: For one, the name needs to be changed. Place a place in between V1 and connection. Took me 4 searches of the apk shop to search it. Also I love the "In the box deal. Would be good if you set up a aditional box we should use to not even let the V1 to go off unless it's within those parameters or even to only let in box alerts.

Doug Raizk: When the concealed display and the bluetooth adapter are both on the bus, the V1 reverts to "legacy mode," negating a lot of of the features of this V1 apk and others in the apk shop. I have not found a workaround. Hence 4 stars. Otherwise this is nice, though other more featured apk is accessible. Reason for both bluetooth and the CD... sometimes wish to leave my smartphone in my pocket and just see the CD.

John Boy: Runs well on an old smartphone I use exclusively for V1. I use tasker to automate unlocking smartphone and starting either this apk or YaV1. It would be nice if there was setting for apk to auto exit after a timeout period so it doesn't run battery down trying to reconnect for hours.

Nick Montante: I really like the apk and it works good on my galaxy s5 but when using it on a motorcycle with Bluetooth headset, it's virtually useless without a sound to trigger you too look down at the apk screen. A feature like the toggle button for dark display would be very useful in order to mute the unit itself and play alerts in the apk or vice versa.

Matthew Johnson: It's a awesome begin but should use some work. 1. Cleanup the interface and be consistent with holo 2. Stop making me accept to the tos every time I begin the apk. 3. This relates to #2, stay begin in the background if swapped out for a min or so, for example, when responding to a notification. 4. You have the occasion to implement some special features like waze integration, or gps/location based false positive muting, whether that be standalone, or an online community built (crowd sourced) database. 5. Improve the error handling, strange errors are reported if you test to do things too rapidly, or just got impatient, for example hitting the mute button twice in a row quickly.

Jonathan: This apk needs an modernize. I don't wish to sacrifice my Waze apk to hold this on my screen. And two devices are excessive. Why not let a pop-up related to that of Fb messenger to notify of an incoming alert and by clicking the icon it would bring the apk up fullscreen to verify the threat. Til that happens, Waze will stay running on my smartphone.

Apks are not like hard products, they're a work of constant iteration and feature releases so that when something breaks it's simple to pinpoint. Landscape, Privacy policy toggle, sound routing, interface redesign, these would all be welcome enhancements.

Simon Shapiro: Short reply: it is what it is, interesting and somewhat useful, but plenty of room for improvement. On the up side - being able to tool the radar detector from the smart smartphone is nothing short of unbelievable. I'm not sure how useful the remote display functionality is compared to the hardware display. This seems more like a novelty than a feature. Of course it would be silly if it didn't contain this functionality, so I understand why they did. If it should give a better interpretation of the radar source place, that would be more useful, but my guess is that's beyond the capabilities of the info accessible. On the down side - as others have noted - it does not properly help multitasking. It starts from ground zero every time you switch apks. This makes the apk very clunky to use in the true globe. I can only hope this will be fixed in due time.
