  Richard Dakin: Worth a quid, but if you have more than one volumio device, with various names, it just connects to the latest one used or the first it finds maybe. I have 2 devices at home so end up using a browser and the IP of the user to connect to the right one, after that the apk will control it OK. Don't wish to be too harsh as volumio on the pi is gratis and good with a awesome dac and this apk is only £1. Overall good work, thanks

  It works! Volumio discovery on the network is not always reliable. But much faster than the web apk in a browser. Volume change makes an annoying noise on the smartphone though: would it be possible to disable it?

  Much better than the latest apk because, for the most part, it actually works. There are still bugs as it will randomly disconnect and rescan for the device at odd intervals. Right now the Web UI is still more reliable but the guys are on the right track.

  Josh Hamilton: It worked a few times, and it seemed good, BUT! my smartphone has a hard time resolving the volumio.local address for some reason. I know this is not the apks fault, but the option to manually enter the IP of the device would receive around this problem.

  Andy Beveridge: Same trouble here - it's stuck as the initial "searching" screen displaying "Device not found" and there does not seem to be any method to enter my volumio IP address manually. I've no idea why it can't search the pi2 that is running volumio... they are on the same access point on the same LAN. My laptop can see the volumio pi just ok and so can a web browser running on my Android device smartphone. Unless/until this find bug is fixed or it gets help for manual configuration this is of no use to me at all.

  Nick Jenkey: Like so a lot of others it just won't connect. I can control Volumio from my smartphone via a browser. All on the same network but apk sticks at the " connecting" screen and no method to enter an ip address! Volumio is good but this apk needs work !

  Jon Beech: Dreadful waste of cash. If your Volumio device is not at the IP address it expects, it won't connect. There's no obvious method of changing this. So, save yourself 99¢ (and 100mb of storage) by downloading Fing from the Play Shop (it's gratis), explore the correct IP address, place that into your browser. Then, if you're using Chrome, go to the three dots on the top right hand side of your browser and make a desktop shortcut. You now have a thing that looks and feels like the Apk but which actually works.
