The West Texas Mesonet apk let's you view the current and past 24 hour weather data collected by the Texas Tech University, West Texas Mesonet array of weather stations (http://www.mesonet.ttu.edu/). The apk allows players to: - Quickly search and add your favorite stations to your list by typing in the station or nearby town name - View current meteorological conditions of your saved stations in list view - Tapping on a station displays detailed meteorological data and also gives access to the Mesonet plots and the NWS forecast page for that place (swipe left/right to change these pages) - Dual pane view for Nexus 7 and larger tablets when the device is in landscape orientation Note that this apk does not contain a background timer to check periodically for fresh data. Station source data is updated and created accessible every 5-8 mins. When the player navigates from a detail data view back to the list view, or changes the device orientation, the apk will only download the recent set of data if 8 mins or more has passed since the latest data download. The player can always force a data download by pressing the refresh button. IMPORTANT NOTE The TTU West Texas Mesonet squad graciously makes the meteorological data accessible, but IS NOT responsible for this apk. Mark Ethridge: If you need info from the TTU Mesonet on your smartphone, this is for you. I know a lot of firefighters that use the apk for the recent weather observations. Customize the list of stations you wish to see quickly and use the map to view the individual stations that the site lists. And the map scales well so that I can actually see the info.

Nathan Rigler: Something on one of the latest updates messed up the functionality on Android device devices. Now when a station is clicked on the web browser opens and takes you to the NWD forecast page instead of the data pages in the apk. Before this bug the apk was excellent.
