*** NOTE: Requires a high-performance device, such as NVIDIA SHIELD. Run the Windward: Performance Try (gratis apk) to check your device's performance before buying the game. Designed from the begin to be a fully procedural co-op mini game, Windward can be played by yourself, but it truly comes alive when playing with mates. Begin by generating a procedural globe that will be special to you, design your own custom faction then sail forward fighting pirates, trading with towns, doing quests or simply exploring -- it's up to you how you wish to play. As you sail about you will search resources you can create use of, upgrades for your ship, fresh towns that will ask your assistance, and as you receive farther out from the starting place -- different pirates that will attempt to take what's rightfully yours. Combat experience will allow you unblock fresh talents and abilities to create that particular line of work easier. As you take up consignments with towns and fulfill their production shortages, the towns will grow, offering more quests, more resources and better stuff. As the towns continue to grow they will offer you a choice to make batter your ship itself. Would you prefer a quick Schooner to discover the globe, or a massive Galleon that's able to take up 5 consignments at once? Or perhaps a heavy Ship of the Line to take the war with the pirates to their heartlands? As you discover the globe and receive farther away from your starting place, the mini game will become progressively more difficult -- but so will the rewards. Throughout all of this you can expect the pirates to place up a fair war, as the AI is bound by the same guidelines as the user: they have sight, and must discover the map before they can know what's there. Speaking of AI, build a fearsome reputation and the AI will respect you, even fear you -- avoiding you if at all possible. Some friendly AI will even select to follow you and help you in your own adventures. And so, on the subject of adventures -- ready to have yours?

Kiddu Sinha: Perfect mini game. In a sea full of in-app bullshit which is the play shop, this is easily one of the best Android device mini games ever developed, from graphics to video test. All of that without in-app purchases. Buy it if your device can handle it. Played on a Galaxy S6

Francois Roy: Thanks for matching the Steam sale price! I'd been looking for this mini game to go on sale for quite a while now.. One of the very few Shield TV compatible with online multiplayer I'm aware of.

A Google user: I've been playing windward on pc since alpha and it's been a good mini game. This android device conversion is very well done and runs very nicely on my galaxy tab s 8.4 Oh and for the record, I have: Graphics set to Ultra. Shadows off (this makes a large difference) Desktop water turned off (also makes a large difference) I was in a combat with 4 another ships and no appreciable drop in framerates.

A Google user: Mini game works good on Galaxy Tab S2. I play on Steam as well and would be brilliant if I should sync my progress across the two platforms. Also, please allow us rename factions so that we can give them the English/French/Spanish/Dutch designations? Thanks!

Fenyx: This mini game is superb on the Nvidia Shield K1 smartphone. I am able to run the mini game with all of the highest graphics settings with no problems whatsoever (aside from the smartphone getting a bit warm, which is to be expected). The video test itself is highly addictive. I'd never played this mini game before, so being immediately thrown into all the startup options with no explanation was a bit confusing (I ended up starting a whole fresh mini game set up differently after reading an online tutorial/walkthrough), but now I'm having a blast. The only large thing I'd change is the fact that, to my knowledge, there's no method to manage a lot of of the "right click" options using a controller. Things like seeing on the map which cities buy or need what, hiring or bribing AI ships, etc. This needs to be added to the controller abilities to create the port complete. Still, a very solid, enjoyable mini game. Kudos to the devs for bringing it to Android device!

Frizzank Frizzank: Good mini game many, many hours of fun. Works good on galaxy S6 the enlarge ui button doesn't seem to work so the ui is a bit on the little side it being a smartphone mini game.

Robert R.: A good callback to the Sid Meier’s Pirates! mini game from years prior. With some of the boring dancing/sword fighting removed and the ship to ship combat sped up as well as automated a bit more which is a mixed blessing/curse, the mini game looks good on my LG G3 as well as Shield TV though I do search the performance on the Shield TV oddly lacking compared to the G3 considering the Shield TV has a much faster SoC. I assume that will be updated down the line. Will probably pick the mini game up on Steam or GoG soon as well, maybe when it's on sale. Just saw that it requires Android device 5.0 so I will have to test it on my Shield Portable/Tegra Note once I make batter those to 5.X as well.

Richard Marion: Perfect port

Andrew Howes: Engrossing begin globe sailing. It's "live," even in single user so if you pause plan on ending up back at port when you resume. I want there was an option to adjust the size of the UI.

Brian Voltz: A good pc port and time assassin.

Greg Parr: An enjoyable experience well worth the cash. Would happily buy add ons to expand the mini game.

Clancy Waldron: good mini game, good graphics. no microtransactions and no adds.

Erik Birkholz: Complicated but fun and fast to learn. I really want it had cloud saving so I should play the same mini game between my TV and smartphone.

Hayo Greenwood: As a lot of before me pointed out this is a very awesome mini game. The controls are a bit problematic though. For example I have to push and keep the little icon for the skill description to see the description right below my finger. This gui was clearly created for the pc. At least give us an option to scale it!

Scott McKenzie: This is the excellent isometric privateer/wood sailing ship mini game. I won't even call it a clone of Sid Meier's Pirates...more like a modern homage. Haven't had any true issues another than some graphics similar slow-down. I only give 4 stars because the performance try doesn't accurately depict the processing power required during said wars. But I will say, I can't trust a Note 4 is unplayable while my LG GPad powers through even the med-large wars. Now all we need is a remake/port of Age of Sail!

Morgan Witherspoon: The graphics are unbelievable. My only recommendation would be a more player friendly menu and/or a brief guide. Also, this may be because my mini game will only play on ultra graphic settings, but why are the menu icons so little? It's difficult to tap the right option.

A Google user: Always have trouble with server Connectivity problem.. Must reconnect, quit, connect, reconnect. But after logged in.. The mini game is ok.
User rated this game 4/5 on 2015-09-07
Chris Tout: Unfortunately the pc release gets frequent updates which breaks compatibility with the mobile release. Perhaps the server client should be configured to help both the recent releases from mobile and computer?

Michael Herzig: Mini game is good on my shield smartphone, but frustrating to play on my shield Android device TV... Please create a TV border option (like bombsquad, and others) so I can read the options I'm selecting and actually see the menu on the side of the screen when playing. 5 stars for that little option.

Jayce Holland: Good mini game, lots of fun and progression. However, UI is too little on phones and needs to be scaled up. AI do not progress another factions that you aren't a part of, they require actual user interaction online, this makes the mini game very dull. Online appears to be very empty as the mini game is quite old.

Adam Davidson: I know playing this on Nexus 5 probably not the best method to play... Mini game gets laggy with alot of things going on but still bearable. The UI create bigger button doesn't do anything, still little. Otherwise 5 stars I would rate.

Robert Garofalo: ...it worked ok on my note 4...and it worked ok on low graphics no shadows ....UNTIL. .....you guessed it...the war ....it's unplayable when you're in battle..it lags to the point that I can't even turn the boat left or right...it just stands there until I explode ....hope you can fix this because I really like the mini game

Shane Menshik: Seems like latest modernize or so has killed the performance of this mini game on the ShieldTV. on just HIGH settings and nothing else turned on, its frame-rate is horrible when in a war with say 3+ ships. So awful that I can't stand playing it on the ShieldTV anymore and just wait until I'm near my PC. Would love it if the PC ver supported the Nvidia Shield gamepad via gamestream, I would rather do that with 1080p/60fps.

Américo Albuquerque: When graphics is set to low the screen is flickering all the time. The left menu is too little and when the fresh window opens it flickers until is begin. Navigation is jurky and jumpy. Changing graphics to high fixes the flickering. Since low graphics is the default on fresh install the user can't have fun the mini game until the graphics is changed to at least high

Tony Johnson: I play this on steam and I have to say it is a lot easier to play on a computer than a smartphone or smartphone. Instead of a tap and drag system for movement, is there a method to implement an onscreen "analog" stick? Also, the inventory system is really hard to use on mobile as the icons are really little and there is no awesome method to compare statistics of what is equipped with what is in the inventory. Perhaps you should create the UI full screen and less rows for mobile? The mini game itself is easy and fun. Worth a shot.

D Long: Controls are too fiddly to easily choose. Takes about 4 attempts to choose broadside and another controls are hit and miss. If buttons were larger(or even whole icon actually click able not just bottom 2mm) would be good. You need a stylus really. I have a note 4 and tried it on Xperia z4 and for some reason low graphics settings are very jerky. Can solve this by putting it on high or turning shadows on but frame rate is dropping to 25 or so.
