  mike burns: Heck with over priced monroi. This is a buck. Now that it has tourney mode could be able to use in rated play. Best method to improve is go over your mini games. I always create mistakes when i hand write my annotation. Now i dont have to worry. Best dollar I ever spent!

  A Google user: This Android device apk is outstanding. As a USCF user and competition director, I'm satisfied to see someone offer an affordable alternative to the Monroi device. I've been able to install the ynotate apk successfully on 2 various devices, and the developer was type enough to answer personally to my emails. This tool is easily worth $2.99 or more. It is an fantastic bargain at 99 cents.

  A Google user: Only thing it needs is to be larger on my smartphone. My daughter keeps notation with this and has problem pressing the little pieces since it only uses roughly one sixth of the screen. Another than this it's a very useful program to assist with taking notation.

  Alexander B: In all Android device shop you cannot search an apk related to this one. This is the only chess notation apk that I have found. Chess notation is only awesome for serious users. Hence less enthusiasm towards developing such apk. Yet you did this and hold updating & upgrading. Kudos to you for such an effort.

  Tony morley: I use this apk to record games/positions, and for what it does, it is good. It is a shame that it is not allowed to record mini games in congresses, local leagues etc, at least in England, and this is a serious flaw, as the apk is clearly aimed at serious chess users.

  Sean Seals: I just started using the apk. Right now I am just using it as an opening repertoire rather than recording full mini games. I realize that this was not the intended function, but it works for me. However, it would be nice if it had an edit feature within the practice mode.

  Mike Hart: old comment: Enjoyed this apk til it quit working after the make batter to Android device 4.3. I uninstalled/reinstalled it, and even less of it functioned. Modernize: I thought the author was not responding, but he did, and he fixed it, and it is back to being the best android device competition recorder. I'll give it 5 stars when he adds fields for Website and Round to the summary /header (at show, the Website is output as blank in the pgn file, but there is not yet a method to input it at mini game time).

  Kevin Ferris: However when ever I load a PGN saved from this apk in a viewer I only receive half the mini game I played. Emailing the notation does work successfully. Still disappointed that I don't receive the full mini game saved in PGN.

  Kerry Liles: Decent application although navigation through menus is a tiny odd. I reported (by email to dev) a couple of bugs: in resulting notation, Castling is represented with zeroes rather than capital O, (could be O-O not 0-0 for example) and resulting pgn file is invalid. Latest I checked, users names are not copied properly (latest and first name are mixed up). Otherwise this more or less works.

  A Google user: Can't search export and import forces close. Needs to fix the issues with USCF compliance. Would love to use this in a really big competition. Required: 1. Time stamps removed for competition mode. 2. Move legality checking for competition removed. 3. This is the hard one but a method to not let closing/leaving board at all during competition AND practice mini game. Either locking tool so it cannot be closed or penalties like tool refuses to begin tourney or practice mini game for 2-3 hours. Awesome begin!

  Scott & Vanessa Shepard: I love what this apk is I have been using it to record correspondence mini games. Unfortunately I have an problem when I exit the apk, come back later, resume a mini game and pices are either back to a previous position or have simply vanished. Forcing me to replay the moves back in a new mini game. Fortunately the recorded moves are correct so I haven't lost the mini game info completely.

  Morris Nelms: I've used this apk before and had awesome results. Today (2.5.15) I was using it to record an OTB mini game with a fellow musician and user I haven't seen in a long while. In the middle of the first mini game the apk froze, went back to the starting position, and then would not allow me load any more moves. Grrr......Pencil and paper seem to be the only true choice.
