  Rob Wylie: Google Melody had better functionality, and you should manage playlists and play melody in Random. I dont understand why features are getting removed, when shuffle is a primary option for any melody user. Ironically, the smartphone apk has shuffle play availible. I hope this improves quick

  juiceSZN: Why is everyone crying? I've had Spotify, Tidal, iTunes, Amazon Music....and YTM is near or at the top in terms of ease of use and cool features. Additional clutch with the download melody to listen to offline. More cool points to the ability to download those YT gems that aren't in an artist's catalog....live performances, covers, b-sides. etc. Also beautiful cool when I'm listening to a song, if the artist recorded a melody video for said song, I can click on "VIDEO" and it will seamlessly transfer over to the video at the exact point you were at in the song. Well done, YTM!

  Eric Plegge: I want Google would have taken the best aspects of Google Play Melody and integrated them into YouTube melody before mandating players transfer. I know change is difficult (and I am willing to continue to learn YT Music's interface), but on a mobile device (Pixel 3XL), it is frustrating to say the least. If Google, as a developer, reads this review, please consider adding the "Downloads Only" feature from Google Play Melody into the YouTube melody apk UI. I have a laundry list of features/functions from Google Play Melody I would like to see integrated into YT Melody, but the most necessary one is "Downloads Only" feature. The ability to limit my data usage when not connected to wireless connection was good. With YouTube melody, if a song that isn't downloaded to my device comes up, the apk just stops playing. With everything going on, and my budget having to be stretched further and further, the ability to limit my data usage is paramount. I don't have the luxury of paying additional for an infinite data plan right now. The one "splurge" I have every month is my YouTube Bonus subscription. I can't give it up since it is the only I can continue to have a family plan. Because of this, I am not able/willing to switch to a various melody service. I would hope that Google listens to its users/customers and considers what is being asked. Google has the occasion to create the YT Melody apk good if it would just incorporate what people loved about the Google Play Melody apk. Google - please do the right thing and assist your players out.

  Yerch McYerchikins: Is there other major melody apk that makes it nearly impossible to rearrange the order of a playlist from your smartphone? Or one that regularly stops playback after a min or two for no awesome reason? Or makes it so difficult to access your own melody? Or can't search your playlists by voice? Or can’t accurately display song info in a vehicle? It is hard to trust that any major company would release an apk this awful. It is harder still to trust it when Google used to have a melody apk that actually worked and they replaced it with this pile of useless garbage. I thought they would work out the kinks over time but it has been months and this isn’t getting better. Don’t use this apk and definitely don’t pay for a subscription to use it. Worthless junk.

  Sigon Legacy: Absolutely horrendous. If I wanted to watch melody videos, I'd just look up melody videos in YouTube. This isn't even an apk. If YouTube isn't installed, trying to begin it just prompts to download YouTube. 1: Give us the ability to play pure audio with no melody videos. 2: Give us the option to play melody in the background like literally every another audio apk can. 3: Create it an actual apk and not just a fresh tab in YouTube.

  Mark Brock-Cancellieri: Seldom works as promised. If you wish to stream random songs this might be ok, but it DOES NOT WORK to play your own melody as requested. Completely fails to shuffle playlists: plays the same songs, in the same order, over and over, every time. WARNING - if you use this service to upload your own melody files you can NOT receive them back, except as unlabeled zip files without folders; they gave me mine as 44 various 2gig files I had to download individually. Crazy! Display of titles is shockingly terrible: it often can't fit the whole song title or band name, across different platforms. The inability to choose more than one track at a time is absurd and makes manipulating Playlists extremely cumbersome. Works half as well as Pandora but insists on reverting to its own suggestions rather than the requested songs. Functionality with Android device Auto is spotty as best: in the vehicle I can't NOT shuffle a playlist, on the TV via AndoirdTV I can only play a playlist in exact order, and using voice commands to my speaker it can't shuffle. Paying for Google1 access to test and fix the bugs was completely pointless, an offensive waste of time and cash ("Have you tried resetting and reinstalling it?" LOL good help). They kept promising it was going to receive better and it just keeps working worse... I've been a Bonus member and was a Google Melody Play player since day one (and happily would have paid that fee forever!), but now I'm quitting because I'm paying them a monthly fee in order to NOT stream my own melody. This has been a horrendous nightmare inflicted on me by those I trusted most with my precious melody library, and I don't plan on letting them forget about their failure any time soon. The fact that so a lot of players have been requesting the addition of a Sleep Time for so long-- and it goes ignored-- shows me they just don't care. Most frustrating of all, every single trouble I've mentioned was non-existent on the Google Play Melody planform before this terrible "make batter." Melody lovers could steer far clear of this apk if you hope to control your own listening experience.

  Jonathan Turner: I would give this less than a star if I should. I tried to use it, but I couldn't even create my playlists like I had on the Google Play, which was good and I used faithfully. Even looking at all the another ratings on here, no answer or reply from the developers of this apk. It is really unfortunate because I love using youtube everyday as well.

  Tyrel Haveman: It's just a link to the YouTube apk, in which I can search no method to find specifically for melody -- the YouTube find returns both videos and melody. And if I do manage to search a song, I'm not sure how to make a radio station based on that song. Very frustrating.

  Jacob Bours: I see what they are trying, But they are failing really hard. The algoritm that I liked and why I initially chose google play melody, is completely gone. Now I just receive pushed the famous playlists that i desperately wish to avoid. Instead of creating an experience that is custom to me. I feel like I am paying for an apk that has an agenda to push the artists that are necessary for the bigger record labels, instead of the artists that I might like. It does the same as youtube, more of the same, instead of trying to know what I actually wish.

  Jim Mack: The AndroidTV ver of this apk is the worst--it's just a shortcut to YouTube that lands in the Melody section. And it's useless. While my uploaded melody can be seen using my Android device smartphone or even a browser, there doesn't appear to be any method to receive to my own paid-for melody transferred from Google Play Melody. The move to YTM is just a cash grab and I'm actively investigating another methods to play my melody. I loved the convenience of GPM. This is other unlabled public beta for Google. Welcome to being an unpaid tester for their tool products.

  David Newell: I recently purchased a Sony OLED television and started to use Google Play to listen to my own melody collection via the TV and sound system. It worked well. To my surprise I learnt it was no longer supported and I now required to use YouTube melody. This is without question the worst apk I have ever used. It goes out of its method to force me to listen/watch anything but my own uploaded melody. Utter rubbish! It got one star because there is no lower option!

  Danilo Valerio: I am so disappointed by this apk. It's just a link to the melody tab of Youtube. As such, it definitely cannot deliver the experience important for a melody subscription. It is not possible to switch from video to just-audio. It is not possible to minimize the apk and continue to listen. It is not possible to list all albums from an artist (searching for an artist just leads you to their youtube channel). Please release a stand-alone apk. The experience important for melody is too various from video watching.

  Sebastien Gruber: Just a redirect to YouTube itself, prioritises videos over melody. Can't search a browse by album. You're better off using the YouTubeMusic apk on your smartphone and casting to your TV than using this apk. At least that method you can browse or search albums/songs/artists you wish and control their playback. O, and no background playback, so unlike every another melody user apk on Android device TV (Spotify, Pandora, etc), you can't exit this apk and allow it run in the background while, say, having your screen saver run. How can Google's own melody apk on its own platform be worse than third party apks? Or even worse than what they have done before with GPM?! Regression, not progression from Google:(

  john kalas: I HATE it. Why is there not a radio option on my Android device TV (Shield). It just takes me to YouTube videos. Not useful. I will be switching if I search something that works or going back to using my own MP3s. F this Apk though and the fact that Google created me switch from Google Play Melody to this trash. I also can no longer play songs that I used to listen to, and no one under 13 can use the apk, so if you have children, too awful for them. Fresh observation - if casting from my smartphone to test to create it KIND OF USEFUL... it disconnects so that I cannot control any of the playlist fuctions with my AV remote. THIS APP SUCKS! Premium Suckiness- If you use a Google mini/ Nest Mini to test to broadcast to a better sounding external Bluetooth speaker, it will slash out and stutter making it unusable. This is fully documented and not resolved. this apk completely sucks, esp coming from Google Play Melody.

  Brandon Waymire: Awful. As an audiophile, i question the business decision of Google capping the audio quality to 256kbps, while Google Play Melody was 320kbps? Meanwhile Jeff Bezos is over there laughing while he offers the superior Amazon Melody HD service. Receive your act together Google. Also, YouTube Melody constantly cuts out while attempting to play on Android device Auto. Latest I checked you're THE Google. Pathetic.

  Dave Eng: Not a true apk. Just a shortcut into the melody section in the YouTube apk, which does NOT do what a YouTube Melody apk could do. It doesn't have the same functionality as the YouTube Melody mobile apk, or the Google Play Melody apk on Android device TV. Do NOT retire Google Play Melody until you have functional parity on all platforms, including Android device TV.

  Dan Demonic: It's a shortcut icon, to the melody section of Android device TV YouTube apk. That melody section is lacking a lot of of the useful features of YTM, there's no background play yet although it's been promised, no shuffle, no repeat, no playlist preview. The album art display while playing is a matt black background which looks plain and boring, making it an unappealing method to listen to melody .
