  M Billinge: I was sorely disappointed with the battery life of my swanky fresh smartphone, which without this apk was worse than my old HTC Desire HD. The trouble has now evaporated. The extended life is undoubtedly worth the slight pain of less immediate email and notice receipt when the screen is off and the smartphone is off charge. Only downside is the need for the full network access permission. I don't really wish this apk to be phoning home.
