  Jonathan Gowdy: I didn't wish to receive into the full swing of PLEX until I realised how necessary it is to organise my media, and how attractive a library can look afterwards. At first I thought I would only wish it to manage my files across the network between my PCs and Android device devices, but this really shows and impresses my family and neighbors on how convenient it is to stream media over the network instead of passing storage devices around the lot. Thanks for providing this for us on the fresh SHIELD Experience Modernize!

  Kevin Frye: I use this on my Nvidia Shield TV 16GB model. I formatted a 2TB USB drive as "internal storage" so I should also access the files via a network share and have write access. It's a unbelievable, quick, versatile server and media user. A+!

  Oliver Woods: Works brilliantly with the Nvidia Shield (500gb), my only question is, when will the DVR modernize be accessible? My PC can already run it and it works well with the HD Homerun Connect i have, however until this modernize arrives on the Shield, i still need to hold my PC on to record my tools. Any news?

  Tony Lovett: Have used plex for a while good apk best one on the shop, but it seems since the latest 5.2 modernize I can no longer gain access via the pc to the shield pro internal storage over the network , no mater what I do. looked on all forums etc ,changed different settings as described but still nothing . Large trouble with the smb side of things. Hence only the 3 stars Please fix as soon as possible , I carn't be the only one with this problem, seems to be an ongoing trouble

  Philip Stowell: Same problems remain from begin day. Transcoding 10bit files doesn't work, anamorphic video aspect ratio gets messed up when transcoding. The lack of access to the data place is a true pain though even if it was just to back up server data and watch status. Considering giving up on this as a media server. If these things were fixed it would be 5 stars

  Justin Bonavia: I use this on Nvidia shield android device TV. Sharing plex storage to windows PC over network is a nightmare. Only works upon configuration, then after device is rebooted or sleeps sharing is not possible anymore. Problem needs a fix urgently as it is a core component of the application functionality.

  Tuoyo Frank Ejueyitchie: Absolutely good that I can use the Shield as a Plex media server but can't receive more than two stars due to inability to use adoptable storage as metadata file. The metadata folder is permanently linked to the internal storage which is limited to 16gb on the standard Shield. The server has now used up all 16gb of my internal storage and I can no longer even modernize my apks or download fresh apks.

  This is awful on the Shield. Every few days it loses connection to my NAS, marks all media as unavailable and needs to be factory restart. Lodi, on the same box, sees the NAS ok. Please fix this smb implementation!

  Need to add move whole tool to sd or at least utilise adoptive storage to shop metadata, tool, transcoding etc. for shield television 16gb. Just does not work trying to fit everything on SHIELD’s internal memory. Good player interface but useless on this device as it runs out of internal memory really quickly storing all the thumbnails etc. If i cant use this feature may as well just use vlc and browse and directly play media. Gave it a shot and what should be potentially a 5 star tool really only is worthy of a 1 as it is currently useless to me at the moment as the database grows to large to fit on the internal memory. Fix this problem and you will be a solid 5.
