  Richard Kandarian: Installed on my Pixel XL to work around bugs transferring files over USB and it's working as it could. I'm very satisfied with it. I can even ssh to my smartphone and using that connection I can scp files back to my laptop (Ubuntu) taking advantage of filename auto-completion and command line editing in the ssh shell on my smartphone. To create the connection back to my laptop work I had to add the .ssh/id_rsa.pub from my smartphone to the .ssh/authorized_keys file on my laptop. I did that using scp from my laptop.

  Fady Ekladious: A good good apk. A life saver to back up precious data when a lot of a lot of another solutions fail. Using SSHelper after a few days of trying a lot of another solutions was the only method I should copy my data reliably to my Linux machine. Using MTP I couldn't even see all the files. Using FTP client I should finally see all the files, but copying is unreliable. If the connection dropped for a reason or other I might receive half a file in which case I have to either overwrite all files or skip all files. Using SSHelper and rsync was the best method possible. Also the interface was implemented in a good method: easy, simple and efficient. It just works without any hassle. This program could have been part of Android device OS itself.

  Daniel Nastase: I've been using this apk for a while now. I suggest it highly. It's very robust, customize-able and simple to understand. I would have one want though: that the apk would help the Lollipop method of being able to write to the external SD card. As it is now one would have to root their device in order to gain access to that.

  Dieuwe de Boer: This apk has good features and works beautifully. Even better, it's begin source. Only two little complaints: 1. Even with SU granted (SuperSU) I cannot seem to set the port to 22 (permission denied in logs). 2. The sounds for config changes can't seem to be turned off and they receive a tiny annoying after a while. Otherwise good apk! Thank you.

  A Google user: Rsync'd off my images and videos from my smartphone into an old backup in a fraction of the time I'd have required to copy the whole lot once more. Got lots of busybox errors on startup, but they don't seem to have affected the working of ssh or rsync so I'm satisfied :)

  Troy Vitullo: Unbelievable program! I've had issues with Syncthing and even KDEConnect, but so far sshelper + rsync does everything I need it to do. One thing I found is that on Linux Mint 18.1 at least I had to add the -zz option to my rsync command to successfully copy files from my laptop. With that option everything works well. I also turned off Battery Optimization for SSHelper on the smartphone which allows rsync to happen while the smartphone display is off. I don't know yet how that will affect battery life.
